Feel For Yourself – Is Sensation Possible After a Double Mastectomy?
Brianna Wesley-Majsiak lost her mother to breast cancer at the age of five. Twenty-one years later, she made the life-altering decision to undergo a preventative double mastectomy. Disheartened by the options presented to her, Bri took matters into her own hands. Using social media, she discovered Doctors Anne and Ziv Peled, who, after Anne’s own diagnosis, pioneered a groundbreaking surgical technique aiming to preserve sensation in patients’ breasts. In this video, I followed Brianna to San Francisco for her one-year sensation test, sitting down with the surgeon(s) who changed the surgical landscape forever.
“This IS an incredible story from two incredibly talented, forthright and courageous women: the storyteller Brianna shares BREAKTHROUGH MUST KNOW information for anyone facing a mastectomy with her impeccable health reporting skills and journalism chops equally matched by childhood footage and her very personal heartwarming/heart wrenching story. Jamie Putnam shows how her chops as a breathtaking video storyteller who engages us while simultaneously educating and moving us intellectually and spiritually. These two ladies - in front of the camera and behind the camera - met at work. They had the courage to become friends and amazing colleagues and create such stunning work! Thank you”
